Conor Benn has set his sights firmly on Ryan Garcia, saying that this is “the biggest fight in boxing” ahead of his return to the ring this weekend.

Garcia claimed the WBC welterweight title with a win over Mario Barrios in February and is now exploring options for his first defense. While a rematch with Devin Haney has been discussed, a bout with Teofimo Lopez is also being considered. However, Benn remains the mandatory challenger and is pushing to secure his opportunity.

Speaking ahead of his fight with Regis Prograis, Benn made his intentions clear. “I want the biggest fights and I don’t think that there is any bigger fight out there than me and Ryan,” he said.

Rather than wait for a guaranteed title shot, Benn chose to stay active, even at the risk of losing his mandatory position. “Do I wait or do I stay active? Do I run that risk fighting a two-time world champion? I like that risk,” he explained, emphasizing his desire to continue building momentum.

With Benn-Prograis set as the co-main event to the Fury vs Makhmudov card, a victory could immediately lead to a post-fight callout. Should that happen, the pressure may shift to the WBC to enforce the mandatory.
