Frazer Clarke underwent successful surgery after suffering a serious injury in his rematch loss to Fabio Wardley in Saudi Arabia. Clarke sustained a zygomatic fracture to his jaw after being caught with a powerful right hook while trapped on the ropes by Wardley. The referee, Victor Loughlin, stopped the fight immediately after realizing the extent of Clarke's injury.
The fracture, located on the left side of Clarke’s jaw, was visibly apparent, prompting an immediate trip to the hospital. The operation, performed on Sunday, focused on repairing the damage to his jaw and cheekbone, restoring normal facial structure.
According to medical guidelines, Clarke's injury is expected to heal within three weeks, with no significant risk of reopening the fracture.
Wardley, who shared a memorable 12-round battle with Clarke earlier this year, sent his best wishes to his opponent. "I always pray before my fights for both me and my opponent’s health. I hope to speak to him soon and wish him a full recovery."
