Claressa Shields has once again made history, this time outside the ring. The two-time Olympic gold medalist and four-division undisputed champion announced a record-breaking $8 million multi-fight deal with Salita Promotions and Wynn Records, the most lucrative contract in the history of women’s boxing.
The new agreement covers four fights over two years and includes a $3 million signing bonus, positioning Shields as the highest-paid female boxer ever. “I learned that I do have a lot of value,” said Shields at a press conference in New York. “People said I couldn’t sell tickets, but that’s a myth. Salita and Wynn came with the money, the vision, and the understanding of how important I am.”
Promoter Dmitriy Salita, who first signed Shields in 2017, said her decision to explore free agency only strengthened their partnership. “When I first met her at Berston Field House in Flint, I brought her flowers and chocolates. Today, she’s signed a multi-million-dollar record-breaking deal,” he said. Wynn Records - where Shields’ partner, rapper Papoose, serves as creative director - joins as co-promoter, offering “connections with the culture” and celebrity outreach to elevate Shields’ events.
Looking ahead, Shields named several potential opponents: Shadasia Green, Franchón Crews-Dezurn, Che Kenneally, Chantelle Cameron, and Mikaela Mayer, who currently holds three of the four junior middleweight titles. Shields also expressed interest in revisiting a fight with Savannah Marshall and didn’t rule out a cross-generational bout with Laila Ali, should the retired legend return.
Now 30, Shields plans to fight until age 38, with ambitions to headline at venues such as Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, and ultimately T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. “We’re entering the next chapter of her career,” said Salita. “This isn’t just about fights — it’s about legacy, culture, and creating the biggest events in women’s boxing.”
