Derek Chisora may not be finished yet, with the 42-year-old now working on a rematch with Deontay Wilder after losing to him in what was supposed to be his final fight.
Chisora had long said he planned to retire after his 50th professional bout, but that milestone ended in a split decision defeat to Wilder at London’s O2 Arena. The 12-round fight was gruelling, chaotic and competitive, with both veterans giving everything despite showing signs of age.
Chisora was unhappy with the decision afterward, while Wilder was also frustrated by the officiating and one scorecard that went against him. Now, Chisora says both sides have reason to run it back.

“I’m working on the rematch,” Chisora said. “The wife has given me the green light so I will be doing the rematch.”
He added that Wilder is also interested because he was not fully satisfied with how the first fight played out. “Yes, he might have won, but he’s upset so we are going to run it back,” Chisora said.
If the rematch happens, Chisora insists it really will be the end. After 348 professional rounds and a long heavyweight career, he says he plans to retire at the end of the year.
