WBC lightweight champion Caroline Dubois has shed light on her move from BOXXER to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, revealing that the decision came down to ambition, opportunity and long-term vision. The 24-year-old rising star debuts for MVP in just ten days, defending her title against Camilla Panatta on the undercard of Paul vs. Anthony Joshua on December 19 in Miami.
Dubois told The Ariel Helwani Show that the switch was the product of lengthy discussions and deep consideration. Although loyal to BOXXER and appreciative of her time under Ben Shalom, she made clear that her goals, particularly becoming undisputed, required a different path. “The sky’s the limit,” she said. “I need to think about what’s going to push the Caroline Dubois train as far and as fast as it can go. MVP is the best route for that.”
A key factor was MVP’s commitment to women’s boxing. With multiple champions in her weight class already signed, Dubois sees clearer opportunities for unifications and major events. She admitted rejecting two previous offers from MVP before concluding their third proposal was simply too strong to turn down.

The transition also followed BOXXER’s loss of its Sky Sports broadcast deal, a shift that prompted Dubois to consider her future. Although Shalom publicly suggested he was streamlining his stable, Dubois confirmed that BOXXER did attempt to re-sign her. “They just couldn’t compete with what MVP was offering,” she said, acknowledging that Shalom’s comments initially felt “slightly offensive” but ultimately understandable given the promoter landscape.
Dubois already has her eyes on unification fights, starting ideally with Harper in 2026. She also hopes to face the winner of Stephanie Han vs. Holly Holm, setting the stage for a huge showdown with Alycia Baumgardner - a fight she calls “the biggest in women’s boxing,” though she expects Baumgardner to resist until the belts and the stakes become irresistible.
Now on a global platform and part of one of the sport’s fastest-growing promotional outfits, Dubois believes her next chapter begins exactly where it should. “I’m focused on my own career, my own journey,” she said. “Caroline Dubois brings everything. It’s just unfortunate [BOXXER] can’t bring what I’m looking for.”
