Early discussions are underway for a junior-middleweight title fight under the World Boxing Association between champion Israil Madrimov and undefeated, three-division champion Terence Crawford.

The potential bout is slated for August 3 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, as part of Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh’s first American event. Alalshikh, head of the Kingdom’s General Entertainment Authority, has previously organized several major cards in Riyadh.

Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing is expected to handle the event’s promotion, though the deal has yet to be finalized, as disclosed by a source requesting anonymity. In a recent social media post by Alalshikh, he shared an image of Crawford with his championship belts, to which Crawford responded with emojis showing interest.

This bout gives Crawford a chance to secure a title in a fourth weight class, having been the undisputed champion at welterweight and 140 pounds. Madrimov, who trains in Indio, California, just two hours from the Coliseum, secured the WBA belt this March by defeating Magomed Kurbanov. Alalshikh is also preparing for major fights in Riyadh, including the undisputed heavyweight and light-heavyweight title matches, showing his continued interest in high-stakes boxing events. The upcoming card promises to be talent-rich, given its significant location and the high-profile nature of the fight.
