The planned Jake Paul vs. Gervonta “Tank” Davis exhibition bout, scheduled for November 14 in Miami, has officially been canceled as Most Valuable Promotions and Netflix confirmed the decision on Monday, citing ongoing legal issues surrounding Davis.
The announcement follows a lawsuit filed by a woman accusing Davis of domestic violence, including aggravated battery, false imprisonment, and kidnapping. “Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,” said MVP CEO Nakisa Bidarian. “While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized.”
Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will receive automatic refunds within 14 to 21 days, while those who bought from secondary markets are instructed to contact those sellers directly.
Paul later released a statement on X, expressing frustration and condemning Davis’s conduct. “Gervonta Davis is an actual walking human piece of garbage,” Paul wrote. “Working with him is an absolute nightmare. The unprofessionalism, the bizarre requests, the showing up hours late to shoots. To the numerous arrests and related accusations and lawsuits. If you support this man, you support the most vile sin a man can commit.”
Apologizing to his team and the fighters who trained for the canceled card, Paul added, “My company champions women. I’m so sorry to everyone involved. Mostly to the undercard fighters, to my team at MVP, and to my team who worked so hard prepping for this fight. It’s scary that devilish men like this can rise to the top of culture and sports.”
While the Miami show is off, MVP confirmed that Jake Paul still intends to return to the ring before the end of 2025, with new event details to be announced soon.
