Two events happened on yesterday's fight night, in which former world champion Heather "The Heat" Hardy (24-2, 4 KOs) faced former Brazilian champion Taynna Cardoso (5-2, 1 KO) and John “Scrappy” Ramirez (10-0, 8 KOs) fought against Luis Padilla (15-3-2, 2 KOs) in the main event in Indio, California. In the first event of the night, Heather Hardy defeated her opponent Taynna Cardoso by unanimous decision at Sony Hall in New York City, maintaining her chances of winning another championship.

The eight-round lightweight fight was judged evenly by one judge at 76-76, but the other two judges disagreed, awarding Hardy the victory with scores of 77-75 and 78-74. Hardy has now won two straight bouts after losing to Amanda Serrano and Jessica Camara in back-to-back fights. São Paulo, Brazil's Cardoso has already suffered two consecutive defeats.

In the co-main event, light heavyweight Frederic "French Revolution" Julan (13-2, 10 KOs) defeated Decarlo "3medno" Perez (19-7, 6 KOs) during the course of eight rounds.

In the undercard, Tsendbaatar Erdenebat (5-0, 3 KOs) won over Giovanni Gutierrez (11-4, 6 KOs), lightweight Terell Bostic (8-1, 1 KO) outpointed Clay Burns (10-17-2, 4 KOs) and Nelson Morales (3-4, 0 KOs) was defeated by Michael Hughes (4-1, 1 KO).

In the other one, the up-and-coming junior bantamweight John “Scrappy” Ramirez (11-0, 8 KOs) defeated Guadalajara's Luis Padilla in ten rounds by unanimous decision. Ramirez won the main event, which was broadcast live on DAZN, with scores of 100-90, 99-91, and 99-91.

By winning, Ramirez improved to 11-0. The achievement comes with a regional championship, and his squad will reconsider earlier plans for a title eliminator. Sirichai Thaiyen of Thailand was the opponent he was initially assigned to face. The two sides claimed to have reached an agreement, but the fight was never scheduled.

“You know what I need next,” Ramirez said. “I need that title eliminator. After that, I need the champions. Joshua Franco got the WBA. It’s all business, never personal.”

In the co-main event, super bantamweight southpaw Manuel “El Meny” Flores (15-0, 11 KOs) scored a split decision win over Franklin “El Abuelo” Gonzalez (25-1, 25 KOs) over 8 rounds by a knockdown.
