Brian “BoMac” McIntyre has dismissed speculation that Terence Crawford is preparing for a comeback after the retired champion joined Lester Martinez’s training camp in Colorado Springs.
Crawford has been sparring with Martinez as the WBC interim super middleweight champion prepares to face unbeaten Luka Plantic on August 29 in Los Angeles.
“He ain't coming back. He’s done. He don't need to come back,” McIntyre said. He explained that Crawford joined the camp to support Martinez, offer advice and put in several rounds of sparring.
Martinez is looking to strengthen his position for a shot at the winner of Christian Mbilli vs. Canelo Alvarez. He previously fought Mbilli to a draw in September 2025.
McIntyre believes Crawford’s presence can help Martinez develop technically, particularly by shortening his punches, improving his footwork and boxing his way into heavier shots.
