Artur Beterbiev has claimed that Dmitry Bivol turned down a significant offer to complete their trilogy in Russia. According to Beterbiev, the proposal was comparable in scale to their first two fights, which were promoted by Riyadh Season, but was ultimately rejected by his longtime rival.

Beterbiev said his focus remains firmly on settling unfinished business with Bivol, insisting that a third fight would be most meaningful in Moscow. The two split their meetings in 2024, leaving the rivalry unresolved, yet negotiations have stalled as Bivol continues to recover from back surgery that is expected to keep him sidelined until early 2026. Beterbiev, who turns 41 in January, has previously voiced frustration, accusing Bivol of deliberately delaying matters.

During Bivol’s absence, further changes have reshaped the division. He vacated the WBC title and declined a mandatory defense against David Benavidez, even as a trilogy with Beterbiev remained unfinished.

Beterbiev, meanwhile, made it clear that he is open to other major fights if the Bivol rematch cannot be finalized. He spoke positively about the idea of facing Benavidez and suggested that even a move up to cruiserweight could be of interest if the right opportunity arises.
