An arrest warrant has been issued in Maryland for Gervonta Davis, with a judge alleging that the lightweight titleholder violated the terms of his probation.

Davis has been on probation since 2023 after pleading guilty to several traffic offenses connected to a 2020 hit-and-run in Baltimore. In that incident, Davis crashed into another vehicle, injuring four people, and left the scene before police arrived. The current warrant alleges that his probation conditions were breached following a recent arrest in Florida, where Davis now resides.

The Florida arrest came weeks after a separate warrant was issued accusing Davis of domestic violence-related offenses. Those allegations include battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping. The alleged victim has also filed a civil lawsuit against Davis.

According to the report, Davis’ attorney has requested that the Maryland court recall the arrest warrant and instead issue a summons for Davis to appear in court, along with an order for GPS monitoring. It remains unclear how the judge will respond to that request or when a court date might be set.

The latest allegations have already had tangible consequences for Davis’ boxing career. His planned exhibition bout with Jake Paul in November was canceled, costing him a high-profile appearance and a lucrative payday on Netflix. In addition, Davis has been designated the WBA’s “champion in recess” at lightweight, and there is the possibility that he could be stripped of his title depending on how his legal situation unfolds.
