Mike Coppinger claims that Fury-Usyk will take place on April 29. Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), the champion of the IBF, WBA, and WBO, has already worked out his contract with the Saudis; we are now waiting to see if WBC champion Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) will also reach an agreement with them.
Unfortunately, it's still not a guarantee that the Fury-Usyk bout will take place because Fury has only ever been concerned with money and despite only having one title to Usyk's three, he still tends to perceive himself as the aggressor in this situation.
The bout may be shifted to London's Wembley Stadium if Fury refuses the offer given to him. Given that Usyk anticipates demanding a huge split, he might not be willing to accept a significant salary drop to face Fury in the UK.
Fury's decision to bring it to the UK would only make sense if he intended to use it as a rationale for demanding a large split that would put the money ahead of the Saudi offer.
Due to the fact that Francis Ngannou, a former UFC heavyweight champion, is waiting in the wings for a lucrative summer exhibition battle, Fury is in a situation where he doesn't need to bargain on equal terms. Fury is also interested in providing entertainment for a WWE event in the wrestling ring.
The battle may not take place this year if Fury decides to take a different path than Usyk since both boxers must perform required title defenses in order to retain their crowns.
