Tom Aspinall’s new partnership with Eddie Hearn has sparked speculation about a future crossover fight with Anthony Joshua once the UFC heavyweight champion’s current contract comes to an end.

The agreement is not a fight-promotion deal but instead focuses on commercial and advisory services. However, it directly links Aspinall to Hearn, the promoter behind former heavyweight champion Joshua, potentially opening doors for future boxing opportunities.

The move follows Aspinall’s October fight with Ciryl Gane, after which he suffered a serious eye injury. In the months since, Hearn has criticized UFC president Dana White, claiming White mocked the situation and did not show enough sympathy toward the British heavyweight. The dispute has added another layer to the rivalry between Hearn and White, particularly after White signed Conor Benn to Zuffa Boxing.

Aspinall is believed to have two or three fights remaining on his UFC contract, which could still leave time for a transition into professional boxing later in his career. At 32 years old, he would still have the opportunity to pursue major crossover events once his obligations in mixed martial arts are complete.

If Aspinall eventually enters the boxing ring, a bout with Joshua could emerge as one of the biggest potential matchups in British combat sports. For now, the idea remains speculative, but Hearn’s new partnership with the UFC champion has already placed the possibility firmly on the radar.
