According to promoter Eddie Hearn, Joshua has re-entered full-time training and is in a strong place mentally and physically following a difficult period outside the sport. “He’s had a great week… he said, ‘I feel amazing,’” Hearn revealed.

After his stoppage win over Jake Paul in December, the former two-time heavyweight champion was involved in a tragic car accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two close friends. Understandably, boxing took a back seat, and for a while, even a return wasn’t guaranteed.

Now, though, there are signs of life again.

Joshua has been training alongside Oleksandr Usyk and coach Igor Golub, sharing glimpses of camp that show a fighter rediscovering his rhythm - laughing, working, and settling back into routine. “It’s really his happy place being in camp,” Hearn said. “It shouldn’t be… but that’s just how fighters are.”

Still, there’s no rush.

A July return is being considered, but nothing is locked in. Medical clearances are still needed, and most importantly, Joshua himself hasn’t made a final call. “No decisions yet about when a return will be,” Hearn confirmed.

As for opponents, speculation around a rematch with Dillian Whyte has already been shut down. “Absolutely no truth at all… not one conversation,” Hearn said bluntly.
