Conah Walker faces Sam Eggington in a welterweight clash on May 2 at The Halls in Wolverhampton, live on DAZN.
Walker (17-3-1, 8 KOs) enters the fight following a stoppage win over Pat McCormack in December and is targeting a world title opportunity later this year. “My dream is to fight for a world title… but the next best thing was a homecoming in Wolverhampton,” he said.
The bout will take place at a catchweight, with Walker typically competing at 147lbs and Eggington (36-9, 20 KOs) moving down from 154lbs. Despite the circumstances, Walker welcomed the matchup. “The opponent in Sam Eggington couldn’t be more fitting… we will put on an amazing spectacle.”
Eggington, a former British, Commonwealth and European champion, made his stance clear. “Different fighters, different venues. Same result incoming… you are next,” he said.
The event is promoted by Matchroom Boxing and features several additional bouts. Bilal Fawaz will defend his British and Commonwealth super welterweight titles against Ryan Kelly, while Kieron Conway returns at super middleweight against Mark Jeffers.
Also on the card, rising prospect Tiah-Mai Ayton continues her early professional run, alongside appearances from Junaid Bostan and Louie Ward.
