Former welterweight champion Keith "One-Time" Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs) will end his three-year layoff on March 12, facing Brock Jarvis (22-1, 20 KOs) in Sydney, Australia. The 36-year-old Thurman plans to formally announce the comeback bout at a media event, where middleweight Michael Zerafa will also be introduced as the co-main participant.
Thurman’s last bout came in February 2022, when he secured a unanimous decision over current WBA champion Mario Barrios. Since then, a planned fight with Tim Tszyu in March 2024 fell through, and Thurman’s extended absence has raised doubts about whether he still possesses the form that once placed him on pound-for-pound lists.

Jarvis, meanwhile, is noted for his glossy record but has limited elite experience. He suffered a first-round KO loss to Liam Paro in 2022 and has fought just twice since. Despite his willingness to move across six different weight classes, Jarvis has yet to prove himself against top contenders in any division.
Though Thurman once reigned as a premier welterweight, we are mindful that ring rust and age could affect his performance. Jarvis, undersized yet hungry, might be the right test to gauge where "One-Time" stands - and whether he can reclaim a spot among boxing’s upper echelon.
