Four-division world champion Claressa Shields (15-0, 3 KOs) will defend her unified WBC and WBO heavyweight titles while vying for the vacant WBA heavyweight belt against Danielle Perkins (5-0, 2 KOs) on February 2. The bout will take place at the Dort Financial Center in Shields’ hometown of Flint, Michigan, and will air live on DAZN.
Shields, 29, claimed her 175-pound titles in July with a dominant second-round knockout of Vanessa Lepage Joanisse. Although the weight class is categorized as "light heavyweight" in men's boxing, some sanctioning bodies recognize 175 pounds as "heavyweight" in women's boxing. Shields, also the reigning unified middleweight champion, looks to continue her unbeaten streak and solidify her legacy as a history-making fighter.

Danielle Perkins, a former collegiate basketball player turned boxer, brings a good undefeated record into the fight. At 42, she faces her toughest challenge yet in what will be her first bout scheduled for 10 rounds. Perkins returned to boxing earlier this year following a three-year layoff and earned a unanimous decision over Christianne Fahey in July. Despite her age and limited professional experience, Perkins is eager to prove she belongs in the ring with one of the sport's greatest fighters.
Shields expressed pride in fighting in Flint, where she began her journey to becoming a two-time Olympic gold medalist and multiple-weight world champion. "Flint made me who I am," she said. "Danielle Perkins is strong, but I’ve faced challenges my entire life and never failed. February 2 will be no different."
Promoter Dmitriy Salita highlighted Shields' groundbreaking career and her opportunity to unify the heavyweight division. Perkins, meanwhile, called the fight an exciting chance to showcase her abilities and capture more titles.
