Fight Details
The fight for the vacant IBF super middleweight title between William Scull (22-0, 9 KOs) and Vladimir Shishkin (16-0, 10 KOs) is set for October 19 in Falkensee, Germany, just outside of Berlin. This bout will determine who claims the IBF belt after Canelo Alvarez vacated it to focus on his fight with Edgar Berlanga in September.
Cuba’s William Scull, currently ranked No. 1 by the IBF, is looking to capture his first world title. The 32-year-old, based in Berlin, is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Sean Hemphill in his U.S. debut back in May. For Scull, this is a chance to solidify his place among the elite at 168 lbs.
His opponent, Russia’s Vladimir Shishkin, also seeks his first world championship. The 33-year-old, based in Florida, delivered a seventh-round stoppage against Mike Guy in his last fight in March. Ranked No. 2 by the IBF, Shishkin’s aggressive style promises to make this an exciting contest.
The showdown between these two unbeaten contenders was made official after AGON Sports and Salita Promotions reached an agreement in August. While broadcast details are still being finalized, DAZN is expected to stream the fight, giving fans worldwide a chance to tune in to this highly anticipated matchup for the vacant super middleweight crown.
