Fight Details

Floyd Schofield is ready to make his return to the ring at The Theater at Virgin Hotels, taking on veteran Rene Tellez Giron (16-1, 10 KOs) in what promises to be an exciting lightweight clash. Schofield (17-0, 12 KOs) is set to headline this Golden Boy Promotions event, and fans are eager to see what he brings to the table in his latest bout.

Schofield’s journey hasn’t been easy. Coming from a background of poverty and homelessness, he’s fought through tough circumstances to rise as one of the top contenders in the lightweight division. "My goal is simple – become a world champion," Schofield said. "My opponent has been in with tough contenders, but we won’t let him steal the show."

His opponent, Rene Tellez Giron, isn’t coming to lay down. "Floyd Schofield is just another big-name guy in my way to the top of the lightweight division," Giron stated. The Mexican fighter has shown his toughness in the ring and will be looking to flip the script against the undefeated Schofield.

The 12-round fight is for the World Boxing Association International lightweight title, and Schofield is looking to continue his impressive streak. The Texas-based fighter has been training out of Davies Boxing and Fitness in San Antonio, and he's determined to keep his unbeaten record intact. His most recent win came against Esteuri Suero in a controversial bout where Suero was disqualified in the fifth round for repeated low blows.

While fans were disappointed to miss out on a potential showdown between Schofield and Ashton Sylve, this fight against Giron promises to be a tough test. Giron, a proud fighter from Mexico, is confident he can pull off the upset. "I like upsets, I’m that guy that will take your heart. I'm tough, and I'll win this fight for my country," he said.
