British, Commonwealth, and IBF Europe welterweight champion Harry Scarff (13-2, 3 KOs), ranked ninth by the IBF, is set to face Karen Chukhadzhian (23-2, 13 KOs), ranked seventh, on May 17th at the Grand Elysee Hotel in Hamburg, Germany.

The event will also feature German heavyweight champion Viktor Jurk (7-0, 6 KOs) and undefeated super middleweight Simon Zachenhuber (23-0, 14 KOs) on the undercard, adding to the night's attractions.

Wasserman Boxing has secured the promotional rights to the Chukhadzhian-Scarff bout after winning a purse bid at the IBF headquarters. Wasserman's winning bid of $141,305 surpassed the bid of $121,121 from P2M Box-Promotion. According to the IBF's purse bid rules, a 10% deposit was required immediately after the bid, with another 10% due along with signed agreements within five business days to confirm the fight's details.

This eliminator sets the stage for the winner to become the mandatory challenger to IBF welterweight champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis, who is slated for a voluntary title defense in May. Chukhadzhian is seeking redemption and a major title with a win over Scarff after a couple of challenging outings, including a failed bid for the interim IBF title against Ennis and a subsequent recovery with two knockout wins.
