The June 6 show in Sheffield has taken a new direction, as Josh Padley’s EBU European Super Featherweight Championship defence against Aqib Fiaz is now the new main event.
Initially the event should have included Dalton Smith’s first world title defense against Alberto Puello, but it has been postponed after Smith suffered an injury in training camp. Additionally to that, Galal Yafai’s WBC and WBA flyweight world title unification fight with Ricardo Sandoval was set to become a new main event, but it as well has been postponed after Yafai suffered an injury during training camp..
The bout is scheduled to headline the DAZN event at Utilita Arena in Sheffield, as the card will still go ahead as planned.
Tickets remain on sale, while refunds are available through the original point of purchase for those who require them.
The undercard will also feature teenage heavyweight Leo Atang fighting in Yorkshire, along with unbeaten prospects Adam Maca and Connor Mitchell. Aaron Bowen faces Troy Coleman at middleweight, while Ibraheem Sulaimaan meets Ibrahim Nadim for the English super featherweight title.
