Manny Pacquiao will step back into the ring on April 18, as the 47-year-old prepares to face former junior welterweight world champion Ruslan Provodnikov in a 10-round welterweight exhibition in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao last competed on July 19, when he challenged WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios. The bout ended in a majority draw, with two judges scoring it even and Max DeLuca awarding Barrios a 115-113 victory. The result moved Pacquiao’s professional record to 62-9-2.
“Returning to Las Vegas means so much to me, and I'm excited to work with a team focused on creating a world-class experience for the fans,” Pacquiao said in a statement. “I'm coming back to give them a great fight - and I'm ready.”
The exhibition will take place at the Thomas & Mack Center, which hosted numerous notable fights in the 1990s before MGM Grand Garden Arena and T-Mobile Arena became the primary homes for major Las Vegas boxing events.
