Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao comes out of boxing retirement for the first time. He is going to have a match against DK Yoo, a South Korean YouTube star, and a master of martial arts. The exhibition will have six two-minute rounds with both fighters using 10-ounce gloves.
Pacquiao, the former eight-division world champion, said he will still give his 100 percent in the match, which will also serve as a charity event for the families affected by the war between Ukraine and Russia. "I will make sure that my condition is at 100 percent and I will still try to do my best, although this is a charity event so that we can help more people," Pacquiao said in a press conference on Wednesday night in Taguig.
He also clarified that he is not coming out of retirement, which he announced in September 2021 prior to running for president of the Philippines. "I've announced my retirement, that's what's in my heart and in my mind unless my mind or my heart decides that I want to fight again but I'm not thinking about that yet," said Pacquiao. All in all, even though, in terms of height, Yoo, a YouTuber who has more than 650,000 subscribers, has the advantage as he stands 5-foot-10, Pacquiao is a favorite to win this fight.
