Anthony Olascuaga will defend his WBO flyweight title against Andy Dominguez on July 11 at Civic Center Plaza in San Francisco, headlining an ambitious outdoor event built around a world-record attendance attempt.
The show, billed as History in the Making, will stream live on YouTube and is being co-promoted by Ed Pereira’s iVB and Sampson Lewkowicz. Pereira has made it clear that the goal is bigger than a standard title fight, with the event aiming to challenge the long-standing boxing attendance record set by Tony Zale vs. Billy Pryor in 1941.
Olascuaga (12-1, 9 KOs) enters in strong form after stopping Jukiya Iimura in the ninth round in March, his third straight knockout victory. Dominguez (13-1, 6 KOs) has also won three straight since his 2024 decision loss to Yankiel Figueroa, giving him a major stage to challenge for a world title.
Lewkowicz believes the event can become something different for boxing. “This is not just a fight card, this is a statement,” he said. “Together we are going to give San Francisco and the world a night they will never forget.”
