David Morrell (9-0, 8 KOs) is set to return to the ring on December 16, taking on Sena Agbeko (28-2, 22 KOs) in a 12-round bout at The Armory in Minneapolis. This fight, which will headline Showtime’s final boxing card of the year, features Morrell defending his WBA “Regular” super middleweight title. Initially planned for the Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia card in April in Las Vegas, the bout with Agbeko was rescheduled due to licensing issues.
Morrell, a Cuban southpaw, has maintained an impressive undefeated record. His last fight was an unexpected matchup against Yamaguchi Falcao, who stepped in on short notice. The 25-year-old fighter from Minneapolis showcased his prowess by securing a quick knockout victory in the opening round. Agbeko, hailing from Accra, Ghana, brings a five-fight winning streak into the ring. The 31-year-old based in Nashville, Tennessee, is coming off a second-round stoppage win over Bruno Leonardo Romay in his latest fight.

The event will also feature a compelling rematch between Chris Colbert and Jose Valenzuela in a 10-round lightweight bout. Colbert (17-1, 6 KOs), from Brooklyn, New York, previously defeated Valenzuela (12-2, 8 KOs) of Los Mochis, Mexico, by unanimous decision in a contest that sparked disagreement from the latter.
Brooklyn’s own Colbert is back to silence any doubters and prove his dominance at 135 pounds. Having faced off with many champions, he’s eyeing a repeat victory to solidify his spot among the elite. On the other side of the ring, Valenzuela is looking to rewrite the script and settle the score in their anticipated rematch. He’s been training hard, ready to unleash his improved skills in the ring.
