The junior welterweight bout, scheduled for ten rounds, tops a stacked professional and amateur card promoted by Rising Star Promotions.
For Mills the fight marks both a career milestone and a homecoming. The 24-year-old from Liverpool, NY, is coming off a stunning first-round knockout of former amateur standout Aaron Aponte on June 6 in Verona. Riding a 13-fight win streak, Mills has steadily built his reputation with victories over quality opposition, including Daiyaan Butt, Jonathan de Pina, Gerffred Ngayot, Mike Ohan Jr., and Alex Martin, who collectively held a record of 77-14-1 at the time.
His opponent, Bernadin (13-3-1, 6 KOs) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, enters with seven years of professional experience and an impressive résumé featuring wins over Osvaldo Morales, Edgar Torres, Kenny Robles, Johnny Spell, and Matt Conway.
