Fight Week in Miami will kick off with added fire as Luan Medeiros and Hugo Macias headline MVP Showcase 2 on Tuesday, December 16. The three-fight event, staged during the Paul vs. Joshua Open Workouts, will stream live from LIV Nightclub at Fontainebleau Miami Beach on Most Valuable Promotions and Netflix Sports’ YouTube channels.
Brazil’s Luan Medeiros (6-0, 4 KOs), fresh off a unanimous decision win over Tony Aguilar in his successful U.S. debut at MVP 13, steps back in for a six-round lightweight test. He meets Mexico’s Hugo Macias (7-1-1, 5 KOs), who enters the bout with momentum after a fourth-round stoppage victory in September. With both fighters bringing knockout power and recent form, the main event offers a compelling clash of styles.
The undercard features a six-round bantamweight contest between England’s former champion Shannon Courtenay (9-3, 3 KOs) and Minnesota’s Jessica Radtke Maltez (2-2-2, 0 KOs). Courtenay returned to action in March with a points win over Bec Connolly, while Maltez is coming off a unanimous decision over Isis Sio.
Rounding out the showcase, undefeated prospect Jocelyn Camarillo (5-0, 0 KOs) faces Yazmin Martinez Jimenez (3-2-2, 1 KO) in a four-round light flyweight matchup. Camarillo impressed in August with a unanimous decision victory, while Jimenez most recently battled to a split draw in October.
MVP Showcase 2 sets the stage for the week’s main attraction: Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua, a heavyweight showdown airing December 19 on Netflix.
