Lester Martinez returns to the ring on March 21 at the NOS Event Center in San Bernardino, California, where he faces Immanuwel Aleem for the WBC interim super middleweight title. The bout headlines a ProBox event that will be streamed free worldwide via YouTube.

Martinez (19-0-1, 16 KOs) enters the fight following a highly competitive split draw against Christian Mbilli in September 2025, a bout officially recognized by the WBC as Fight of the Year. A rematch had been ordered but fell through after changes at the top of the division, leaving Martinez to pursue interim honors instead as he continues his push toward becoming Guatemala’s first world champion.

Aleem (22-3-3, 14 KOs) represents a seasoned challenge. The 32-year-old from Richmond has experience in close, technical fights, including draws with Demond Nicholson and Matt Korobov, and a stoppage win over Nicholson in his last outing. Though often considered an underdog in major fights, Aleem enters this bout unbeaten in recent years and ranked within the WBC’s top 10.

The winner will be positioned as WBC interim champion, potentially setting up a future clash with Mbilli or another top name in a division that remains in flux.
