Mexico’s Yuliahn “Cobrita” Luna is set to face off against Denmark’s undefeated champion, Dina Thorslund, in a high-stakes bantamweight title unification bout in Holstebro, Denmark for the coveted WBC and WBO belts.
While Luna will journey an impressive 5,800 miles to defend her title for the third time, Thorslund has the home advantage, needing to travel a mere 10 minutes for this crucial bout. Both 29-year-old fighters are standing at the top of their game as reigning world champions.
Luna’s impressive resume includes stints as both bantamweight and super bantamweight champion, and she’s no stranger to overseas victories. This Norse voyage to the fjord shouldn’t faze her. On the other hand, Thorslund boasts a rich history in the sport too. She’s held titles in two divisions and first made her mark in 2017 by clinching the WBC Youth World super bantamweight title. Swiftly following this, she bagged the European title and eventually the WBO World Super Bantamweight title, which she defended successfully three times before moving on to win the bantamweight version.
