Mauricio Lara will continue his pursuit of a second world title when he faces Carlos Ornelas on August 29 at Complejo Deportivo Artes Marciales in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The all-Mexican super featherweight main event will be contested over 10 rounds and broadcast live worldwide on DAZN.
Lara (30-3-2, 23 KOs) enters seeking a fifth consecutive stoppage victory. The former WBA featherweight champion won the belt by knocking out Leigh Wood in 2023, two years after his upset stoppage of Josh Warrington.

Ornelas (29-5, 16 KOs) returned to winning ways with a second-round stoppage in February after previously losing to Abdullah Mason.
“I will show the world why I once was world champion and that I am ready for any 130lb fighter,” Lara said. “I am focused on becoming world champion again.”
Ornelas issued a direct warning ahead of the fight: “I’m sending Bronco into retirement.”
