WBA lightweight champion Stephanie Han will defend her title against former world champion Holly Holm in a rematch scheduled for May 30 at the El Paso County Coliseum in Texas. The bout will be nationally televised on ESPN and is part of the launch of MVPW, a women-focused platform under Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
The fight follows their first meeting on January 3 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where Han defeated Holm by technical decision after an accidental headbutt caused a cut on Han’s forehead in the seventh round. At the time of the stoppage, Han was ahead on the scorecards with tallies of 69-65, 69-64 and 68-65.
Han (12-0, 3 KOs) will be making the third defense of the WBA lightweight title she originally captured in El Paso with a first-round knockout of Hannah Terlep. Her first defense came in Florida, where she secured a 10-round decision victory over Paulina Angel.
