"The Future Is Now" card takes center stage on Saturday, March 8, at the legendary 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, promising a loaded night of action from top to bottom. Promoted by Mike Farrell and hometown star Danny Garcia of Swift Promotions, the show will be overseen by the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission, with Renee Aiken matchmaking.
Topping the super-lightweight lineup, Mathew Gonzalez (15-0-1, 10 KOs) meets rugged Jino Rodrigo (12-4-2, 10 KOs) in an eight-round clash. Gonzalez, looking to stay unbeaten, hopes to extend his undefeated streak under the bright lights, while Rodrigo aims to spoil the party and leap into contender status. Another featured super-light fight sees Daiyaan Butt (19-2, 10 KOs) battle Issouf Kinda (20-6, 9 KOs), a crucial crossroad for both boxers looking to gain momentum in a deep division.
Elsewhere on the card, veteran Mickey Bey (25-3-1, 13 KOs) looks to make a statement at super featherweight against Angel Hernandez Pillado (13-9, 7 KOs), an experienced foe who’s been in with tough competition. Plus, Canadian up-and-comer Thomas Blumenfeld (7-0, 6 KOs) meets Frankie Sanchez Jr. (7-1-2, 6 KOs) in another super-light slugfest.
