Tommy Fury (10-0, 4 KOs) returns to sanctioned boxing this Friday in Budapest, facing 27‑year‑old Bosnian cruiserweight Kenan Hanjalic (5‑1, 4 KOs) at the MTK Arena. The 25‑year‑old Briton is unbeaten in 10 pro bouts but has not fought since out‑pointing YouTuber KSI in October 2023 and subsequently undergoing hand surgery.  
Hanjalic represents Fury’s first licensed opponent in more than two years. Ranked outside the top 300 at 200 lb, he has stopped four of five victims since debuting in 2019 but was out‑boxed in his lone step‑up, dropping a decision in 2022. Still, the Sarajevo‑based slugger has fought twice in 2024 and says Fury’s lay‑off makes the favourite “rusty and ripe for an upset.”

Fury, now training full‑time in the Hungarian capital, insists the spell away has sharpened his motivation. “The hardest battle was the mental one of being out of the ring,” he told BBC Sport. “But I’m back stronger, sharper and more Hungary than ever.” A victory would restore momentum and could reboot stalled plans for bouts with former UFC standout Darren Till or influencer‑boxer rematches later in the year. 
Friday’s card doubles as a family affair: older brother Roman Fury meets Croatian heavyweight Josip Pehar in the co‑feature, giving the travelling Fury fanbase a two‑for‑one showcase.
