The victor will be in line to face the winner of the upcoming clash between Willibaldo Garcia and Andrew Moloney, scheduled to take place eight days after this eliminator.
Edwards (21-2, 7 KOs), a former flyweight world champion, is continuing his campaign in a new weight class after moving up following a split decision loss to Andrew Cain in March 2025. The 33-year-old has since returned with a win at junior bantamweight.
Nqothole (21-3, 13 KOs) enters the fight in strong form, riding a three-fight winning streak. The matchup presents a clear path toward a title shot, with both fighters looking to secure their place among the top contenders in the division.
