San Antonio’s boxing scene is heating up again as Triple A Promotions, in partnership with South Park Boxing Academy, brings “The Showdown at the Shrine” to the Alzafar Shrine Auditorium on Saturday, November 23rd. This exciting event will be streamed live on KSAT.com.
In the main event, local rising star David Cardenas (8-0, 6 KOs) will put his unbeaten record on the line against fellow San Antonio native Robert Ledesma (3-13-1, 2 KOs) in a 6-round light flyweight bout. "I’m ready to give everyone a show they won’t forget," said Cardenas, who has been gaining a strong following, even catching the eye of Spurs star Keldon Johnson.
The co-main event will feature a battle between local lightweights Aseel Martinez (2-0, 1 KO) and Jose Jimenez, who will be making his professional debut. Fans can expect fireworks as both fighters are hungry to prove themselves in the ring.
Promoter Rick Nunez emphasized the excitement surrounding this event, urging fans to secure their tickets quickly due to high demand. "Boxing in San Antonio is on the rise, and this card is stacked with talent," Nunez stated. The night will also feature the National Anthem performed by award-winning Country and Tejano singer Laura Linda, adding a special touch to the evening.
The undercard is packed with exciting matchups, including appearances from undefeated prospects Blazen Rocili (7-0, 6 KOs) and Westley Phillips (2-0, 2 KOs), ensuring a night full of action.
