All Star Boxing is set to kick off its 2026 campaign with a high-profile event in Nicaragua on March 6, staged at the Olof Palme Convention Center.
The 10-round main event, billed as “Now or Never,” features a crossroads clash between world-ranked contender Julio Cabrera and former world title challenger Gerardo Zapata. Cabrera (10-2, 12 KOs), ranked No. 14 by the WBO and No. 15 by the WBA, represents Chontales, while Masaya’s Zapata (15-3-1, 5 KOs), known as “Cascabel,” brings veteran experience into a bout.
Also featured prominently on the card is WBO Latin junior flyweight champion Eveling Ortega, who continues her tradition of fighting during International Women’s Day weekend. Ortega, nicknamed “Colocha,” will compete in an eight-round stay-busy bout while defending her WBO No. 1 ranking. Her team insists she is edging closer to a full world title opportunity.
“2026 will be the year Colocha goes for her first world title attempt on home turf. The time is now,” Zabala Jr said. “We have a great show on March 6 that also includes our new signee Ricardo Blandon, with many more announcements coming in the weeks ahead.”
Newly signed super featherweight puncher Ricardo Blandon, known as “Big Bang,” will make his All Star Boxing debut on the card. He joins his brother, undefeated bantamweight prospect Bryan Blandon, with both Blandon brothers scheduled to appear in separate bouts.
