Steven “Bang Bang” Butler will headline a loaded Eye of the Tiger Management show on March 5 at the Casino de Montréal when he meets Ramadan Hiseni for the WBA Continental super middleweight title.
For Butler (37-5-1, 31 KOs) this fight is about revenge and opportunity. The two-time world title challenger has been revitalized since moving up to super middleweight, rattling off three straight knockout wins over the past year, including a rematch victory against Jose Macias and a local clash with Stéphane Fondjo. Butler has framed the matchup as a chance to prove he belongs among the division’s serious contenders, while his camp insists the lessons learned from previous EOTTM setbacks will not be repeated.
His opponent, Hiseni, first made waves in June 2024 by fighting Shamil Khataev to a 10-round draw in Montreal, before returning last December to outbox Alexandre Gaumont over 12 rounds, giving Gaumont the first loss and knockdown of his career. Now 22-2-2 (8 KOs), the Swiss contender enters his third fight in Quebec confident that history will repeat itself, promising another victory on hostile ground.
The co-main event features a significant step for undefeated WBA contender Lenar Perez (15-0, 14 KOs) who makes his long-awaited EOTTM debut against battle-tested former world title challenger Isaac Chilemba (27-10-3, 11 KOs) for the WBC Continental light heavyweight title. Perez enters ranked among the top contenders in the WBA and brings a fearsome knockout ratio, but Chilemba’s durability and experience loom large. The African veteran has been stopped just twice in 40 bouts and is the only man to have gone the distance with Osleys Iglesias..
Another championship bout adds local intrigue as Montreal’s unbeaten Christopher Guerrero (16-0, 9 KOs) defends his WBC Continental welterweight title for the third time against fellow unbeaten puncher Samuel Rodriguez (12-0, 11 KOs). Guerrero, currently ranked No. 18 by the WBC, is under pressure to deliver a statement performance after two outings that failed to fully convince his team. Rodriguez, based in Gatineau, brings heavy hands and familiarity with the Quebec scene, setting up a high-risk matchup with potential world-ranking implications.
The card also includes a fourth title fight as undefeated WBC Continental super lightweight champion Jhon Orobio (16-0, 14 KOs) makes his third defense against experienced Puerto Rican contender Yomar Alamo (22-5-1, 13 KOs). Orobio enters seeking a fourth consecutive knockout, but Alamo’s résumé includes competitive bouts against Jamaine Ortiz and Delante Johnson, as well as a near-upset of future world champion Liam Paro.
Rounding out the show, former world title challenger Steve Claggett (39-8-2, 27 KOs) returns after a year sidelined by injury, while unbeaten prospect Moreno Fendero (13-0, 10 KOs) is scheduled for another 10-round bout.
