Rising cruiserweight prospect Pat Brown will headline in his hometown once again when he faces Vasil Ducar for the WBA International cruiserweight title on April 3 at Planet Ice Arena in Altrincham.
Brown (5-0, 5 KOs) enters the contest as one of the most talked-about young fighters in the division and has been nominated as The Ring Magazine’s 2025 Prospect of the Year. The fight represents a significant step up in competition as he takes on experienced Czech contender Ducar (19-7-2, 17 KOs), who has previously shared the ring with fighters such as Chris Billam-Smith, Chev Clarke and Jordan Thompson.
Speaking ahead of the fight, Brown said he welcomes the challenge and is eager to continue building momentum early in his professional career. The Manchester fighter emphasized that he is not looking to build an easy record and expects Ducar to present his toughest test so far.
The April 3 event will also feature the Matchroom Boxing debut of twins Ioan and Garan Croft. Featherweight prospect Alfie Middlemiss is also scheduled to appear on the card against Lewis Morris, while William Crolla faces Jermaine Osbourne-Edwards in an eliminator for the English super welterweight title.
In another eliminator bout, Joe Howarth will take on Josh Blenkiron for a shot at the English lightweight title. Heavyweight Jordan Thompson will also return to action following his points defeat to Lenier Pero in Orlando last November.
