Serhii Bohachuk’s march back to world-title contention continues on 17 May when the WBC No. 1 super-welterweight meets 6ft 3in southpaw Mykal Fox at the Commerce Casino Ballroom in Los Angeles. Promoter Tom Loeffler confirmed contracts are “99 percent complete,” with full undercard details expected to be soon.
Bohachuk (25-2, 24 KOs) hasn’t fought since flattening late sub Ishmael Davis on the Usyk-Fury undercard in Riyadh last December. That win helped erase memories of his August war with Vergil Ortiz Jr., a bout voted runner-up for 2024 Fight of the Year after Ortiz survived two knockdowns and rallied to edge a majority decision for the interim WBC belt. With Ortiz now elevated to full champion, Bohachuk’s path to a rematch could be short - provided he clears Fox without drama.

Fox (24-4, 5 KOs) owns one of boxing’s most controversial losses, a 2021 unanimous decision to Gabriel Maestre that drew industry-wide outrage and temporarily sidelined a judge. The D.C. stylist has since regrouped with points victories over Donald Ward and Yaniel Alvarez, and at 6ft 3in he’ll match Bohachuk’s 6ft 1in frame for height, if not knockout ratio. Fox’s team believe movement and reach can blunt the Ukrainian’s 96 percent stoppage rate; Bohachuk insists foot pressure and angles will break the American’s rhythm the way it did Ismael Villarreal and Patrick Allotey.
The show promoted by Loeffler’s 360 Promotions and streamed on UFC FIGHT PASS also features Trinidad (18-0-1, 13 KOs), the East L.A. pressure puncher ranked No. 2 by the IBF at 126 pounds. A win could push Trinidad toward a summer mandatory versus newly crowned titlist Angelo Leo, giving 360 a potential two-title sweep in the second half.
For Bohachuk the equation is simpler: beat Fox, stay in camp, and wait for the WBC to finalise Ortiz’s first defence. “I want the winner of Ortiz-[next opponent] by December,” he told local media. “Fox is in my way - nothing more.”
