Bosnian powerhouse Damir Beljo (27-1, 22 KO), affectionately known as the “Bomber from Neretva,” is gearing up for a pivotal return to the boxing ring as he squares off against the formidable Jurgen Uldedaj (16-1, 6 KO) in Munich, Germany, at the iconic BMW Park.
Beljo steps back into the ring following a straightforward win against Marko Petricevic last year in Velika Gorica. However, it is his battle against Alexei Papin in Moscow that still resonates with many. Despite the bout culminating in a controversial second-round stoppage by the referee — marking Beljo's first professional defeat — his resolve remains unshaken.
On the other side, Jurgen Uldedaj poses a significant threat. Uldedaj brings to the table two notable titles — the Mediterranean IBO and the continental WBA Europe titles — underscoring his ambition in the cruiserweight division.
Beljo's journey has been nothing short of cinematic, from defending the European WBO title multiple times to the near-miss opportunity to face Ukrainian phenom Oleksandr Usyk in 2016. An unfortunate car accident in Mostar, just before his scheduled trip to Los Angeles for what would have been a world title fight, derailed his plans and added a dramatic twist to his career.
