Super middleweight contender Erik Bazinyan (28-0, 21 KOs) is facing Alantez Fox (28-3-1, 13 KOs) in a 10-round bout at the Casino de Montreal in Montreal, Canada.
Erik Bazinyan defeated former world championship contender Marcelo Coceres in June of 2022 to record his finest victory to date. His victory over the tenacious Argentine boxer appeared to have prepared him for a successful year's end. Sadly and unexpectedly Bazinyan's father died which naturally left him shaken and in need of some downtime.
The talented American Alantez Fox is the opponent for the 27-year-old, who was born in Armenia but migrated to Canada when he was 16 years old.
“I was supposed to fight in November/December, but something bad happened and I had to travel to Armenia and had some paper issues over there and it took a long time. Now I’m stronger than ever,” Bazinyan said in the interview.
“There is an army in Armenia and I haven’t been back to Armenia in 11 years because of the army, “ he said referring to mandatory enlistment in Armenia. “Finally, I could go after my father passed in Armenia, so I had to go there and fix my papers. It was supposed to take one month, but it took two months. When I came back, I started my training. But it was a long time.”
The co-feature is WBC #14 super featherweight Yves Ulysse Jr (22- 2, 12 KOs) takes on Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela (25-3-1, 15 KOs).
