The Canadian heavyweight titleholder Alexis Barriere (9-0, 7 KOs), is set to step back into the ring to face off against the 34-year-old heavyweight champion, Mike Marshall (6-4-1, 4 KOs) at Montreal’s Cabaret du Casino on the GYMboxe.tv platform and FITE PPV for $29.99.
27-year-old Barriere makes his return just a month after securing an impressive points win on March 18th against Zamig Atakishiyev from Azerbaijan. As a former member of Canada's National Team, he has been the country’s most active fighter over the last two years and despite the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic and the subsequent slowdown, Barriere's bout on April 20th marks his 10th fight in his 25-month professional career.
“I am extremely impressed by Alexis’ development and progress over the past 2 years,” said GYM President Yvon Michel. “We are happy with this collaboration with New Era for the promotion of Alexis’ fights and I thank Yan Pellerin and Peter George for their trust. Alexis Barrière is a skilled, young heavyweight with strong fundamentals and superior ring intelligence. He has everything it takes to become a very big popular star.”
In the co-main event, light heavyweight Terry Osias (11-0-0, 5 KOs) takes on Niclas Elfstedt (11-1-1, 6 KOs), following his most impressive victory last month against Francy Ntetu.
