Fight Details

After a long-anticipated bout with Harlem Eubank fell through, rising super lightweight star Adam Azim will now face the experienced Ohara Davies on October 19 at the Copper Box Arena in London. The Sky Sports/Peacock will showcase Azim in his biggest test yet, as he continues his journey to establish himself among the division's elite.

Azim (11-0, 8 KOs), who captured the European title with a knockout win over Franck Petitjean last November, followed it up with a dominant stoppage of Enock Poulsen in his first defense. While originally lined up to defend against Dalton Smith, Azim pivoted toward a fight with Eubank, which never came to fruition. Now, he'll face the seasoned "Two Tanks" Davies (25-3, 18 KOs), who looks to bounce back after a surprising first-round loss to veteran Ismael Barroso in January.

Despite Davies being the most notable opponent of his career, Azim, 22, remains confident and eager for the challenge. "I can’t wait to get back in the ring and back to what I do best," Azim said. "I respect Ohara and what he’s achieved, but when we meet in the ring, he’s just another opponent. I’m ready to make a statement and show everybody that I’m ready for the biggest names in the division."

For Davies, the upcoming fight presents a crucial opportunity to reignite his career after the recent setback. "I’ve known Adam since he was very young, and I respect his success," Davies said. "But he isn’t a kid anymore. He’s a man with massive potential, and that’s why it’s a shame I have to hand him his first defeat. This is where it all changes for him."

In the co-main event, British former two-time light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Yarde (25-3, 24 KOs) takes on Ralfs Vilcans (17-1, 7 KOs) of Latvia. Also on the card, Dan Azeez (20-1-1, 13 KOs) and Lewis Edmondson (9-0, 3 KOs) battle it out for the vacant British and Commonwealth titles at light heavyweight.
