Fight Details

Local favorite Michael “Slick” Anderson will face Daniel “El Gallo” Gonzalez in a high-stakes welterweight showdown as the main event of the next Brick City Fight Night Series on Saturday, October 12. The 10-round bout will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, presented by Rising Star Promotions.

Anderson (24-3-1, 18 KOs), a Newark native, is riding an impressive seven-fight win streak, with six of those victories coming by knockout. Anderson’s last fight was in December, where he stopped Eudy Bernardo in the fifth round at the same venue. Known for his punching power and exciting style, Anderson looks to continue his winning ways in front of his hometown crowd.

Gonzalez (21-4-1, 7 KOs), from Queens, New York, brings a wealth of experience into the ring. He went the distance with former WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri in a close but losing effort. Gonzalez believes his experience with top-tier opponents will give him the edge over Anderson. "This fight is a great opportunity to test my skills. I am ready for war, and I know I will leave with the win on October 12," said Gonzalez.

Rising Star Promotions’ President, Thomas "Cornflake" LaManna, highlighted the significance of the bout: "This is a true crossroads fight between two veterans. Mike Anderson has never fought at the level that Danny Gonzalez has, but when the lights come on, we’ll see who shows up."

The event will feature a stacked undercard, including a co-feature between Emmanuel "Salserito" Rodriguez (15-2, 8 KOs) of Newark and Brooklyn’s Khalid Twaiti (13-0, 5 KOs) in a 10-round bantamweight bout. Additionally, unbeaten New Jersey prospects Gabriel Gerena (6-0, 5 KOs) and “Dangerous" Danny Gonzalez (3-0, 3 KOs) will meet in a six-round junior welterweight contest with local bragging rights on the line.
