Undefeated New Zealand contender Andrei Mikhailovich is set to challenge Kazakhstani middleweight champion Janibek "Qazaq Style" Alimkhanuly for the IBF middleweight world title. The bout will take place at The Star in Sydney, Australia, marking the first IBF middleweight title fight held in Australia since Daniel Geale’s 2013 victory over Anthony Mundine.
This action-packed event will be streamed live on ESPN+ in the U.S. and broadcast in Australia on Fox Sports and Kayo Sports. Originally scheduled for July 13 in Las Vegas, the fight was postponed due to Alimkhanuly's hospitalization from dehydration before weigh-ins. No Limit Boxing won the purse bid and decided to stage the fight in Sydney, setting the stage for this thrilling matchup.
Janibek Alimkhanuly, a 2016 Olympian from Kazakhstan, has quickly established himself as a dominant force in the middleweight division with impressive victories over Rob Brant, Hassan N'Dam, and Danny Dignum. In 2023, he unified the middleweight titles by defeating IBF champion Vincenzo Gualtieri, solidifying his reign as one of the top fighters in the division.

On the other side, Mikhailovich enters the fight with an undefeated record and a growing reputation. Born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and raised in New Zealand, Mikhailovich began boxing at 15 and has consistently demonstrated his skills in the ring. His most notable victory came in 2023 when he overcame an early knockdown to defeat Edisson Saltarin in five rounds. He now aims to cement his legacy by dethroning Alimkhanuly.
"I respect him as a champion, but I know he doesn't respect me," said Mikhailovich. "I'm going to write my name in the history books as a world champion alongside Joseph Parker and Maselino Masoe. That's my destiny, and I will stop at nothing to make sure the world remembers my name."

Alimkhanuly, confident as ever, had a different perspective: "He is like a cloud for me now. I need to get rid of the cloud quickly to see the sun. Everyone knows he is an easy task for me. I will knock him out very quickly!"
