Two British contenders will return to action on May 3 when Top Tier Boxing stages an event at York Hall in London. The card will be headlined by a clash between Bradley Townsend and Yaser Al Ghena for the English and WBO European super-lightweight titles.
Among the fighters confirmed for the undercard are Henry Turner and Sam Noakes, two once-beaten prospects aiming to continue their progress. Turner (15-1, 7 KOs), known as “The Showman,” has built a reputation as a skilled welterweight after previously claiming the WBC International Silver super-lightweight title and defeating several domestic opponents.
Turner’s only defeat came in 2024 when he challenged British and Commonwealth champion Jack Rafferty. After delivering a strong boxing performance early in the fight, he was eventually stopped by the heavy-hitting champion. Since then, Turner has rebounded with two quick stoppage wins after moving up to welterweight.
Also returning on the card is Sam Noakes (17-1, 15 KOs), a powerful lightweight from Maidstone who began his career with 13 consecutive stoppage victories. During his rise, Noakes captured the British, Commonwealth and European titles before stepping up to challenge undefeated contender Abdullah Mason for the vacant WBO lightweight world title late last year.
Although Noakes lost a competitive decision in that bout, the performance earned widespread respect. Opponents for both Turner and Noakes have not yet been confirmed, but both fighters will look to deliver strong performances as they continue their pursuit of bigger opportunities in their respective divisions.
