Murodjon “MJ” Akhmadaliev returns on Friday, May 29, at Humo Arena in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where he faces Hegly “La Tormenta” Mosqueda in a 10-round featherweight bout. Akhmadaliev (14-2, 11 KOs) is fighting at home as he looks to rebound from his unanimous decision loss to Naoya Inoue last September.
The former IBF and WBA super bantamweight champion remains one of Uzbekistan’s most accomplished active fighters. Akhmadaliev won his first world titles in 2020 by defeating Daniel Roman, and now returns in a new weight class with a chance to rebuild momentum in front of a home crowd.
Mosqueda (27-1, 20 KOs) brings a dangerous record and real punching power into the fight. The Venezuelan has been a professional for 10 years and last fought in November 2025, beating Nestor Gonzalez by unanimous decision. With 20 knockouts from 27 wins, he should not be treated as a routine comeback opponent.
Broadcast details are still to be announced.
