Brandon Adams and Caoimhin Agyarko will collide in an IBF junior middleweight title eliminator on April 18 at Toyota Arena in Ontario, California, with the winner becoming the mandatory challenger for the IBF belt.
The bout will headline a DMG Boxing event after a deal was finalized just before a scheduled purse bid. The victor will earn the right to face the winner of the January 31 title fight between champion Bakhram Murtazaliev and challenger Josh Kelly in Newcastle, England.
Adams (26-4, 16 KOs), ranked fifth by the IBF, enters the fight fresh off a unanimous decision win over Serhii Bohachuk in their September rematch. The 36-year-old Los Angeles native dominated the 10-round sequel after previously knocking out Bohachuk in 2021.
Agyarko (18-0, 7 KOs), ranked seventh, will fight outside the United Kingdom for the first time in his career. The 29-year-old Northern Irish contender went 3-0 last year, highlighted by a split-decision victory over Ishmael Davis and a majority decision win against Ryan Kelly. With the top two spots in the IBF rankings vacant and Kelly already set for his title shot, Adams and Agyarko now have a clear path to secure their own opportunity at 154 pounds.
