Weljon Mindoro

Weljon Sandag Mindoro (born January 26, 2000) is a Filipino professional boxer from Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines. Nicknamed “Triggerman,” Mindoro stands 6-foot with a 72-inch reach and fights from a southpaw stance. He has competed at light middleweight and middleweight.

Before turning professional, Mindoro competed in Philippine amateur tournaments including Batang Pinoy and Palarong Pambansa. He later represented the Philippines at the 2025 SEA Games, winning a bronze medal in the middleweight division.

Mindoro made his professional debut in April 2019 with a third-round stoppage of Jerry Kalaw. He built his early career in the Philippines with a long series of knockout victories before stepping up against former world-title challenger Takeshi Inoue in May 2023. Their 12-round contest for the WBO Asia Pacific light middleweight title ended in a split draw.

In 2024, Mindoro began competing in the United States, stopping Tyler Goodjohn in the second round and Lucas de Abreu in the third. He also defeated Joel Camilleri by fourth-round stoppage in Dubai to win the inaugural IBA Asian middleweight title.

Mindoro continued his progression with stoppage victories over Omar Munguía, Dormedes Potes and Wellem Reyk before defeating Elias Espadas by unanimous decision over ten rounds in June 2026. His professional career has combined a high volume of stoppage wins with bouts across the Philippines, the United States and the Middle East.
