Tiara Brown

Tiara “The Dark Menace” Brown is an American professional boxer from Fort Myers, Florida, who later established herself in the Washington, D.C. boxing scene. She began boxing at the Police Athletic League in Fort Myers after initially competing in track, cross country and basketball. Brown went on to become one of the most accomplished American female amateurs of her generation, winning three USA Boxing national titles and the 2012 World Championships at featherweight. She also won bronze at the 2014 World Championships and competed in the 2015 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Brown turned professional in September 2016 and won her first 16 fights, with 11 victories coming by knockout. During the early part of her career, she defeated several experienced opponents, including former IBF featherweight world champion Dahiana Santana, whom she stopped when Santana did not answer the bell for the fifth round. Brown continued to build her résumé with wins over Vanessa Bradford, Simone Aparecida da Silva and other seasoned opposition, although her professional career included several lengthy periods between fights.

In 2024 and early 2025, Brown returned to more consistent activity and positioned herself for a world-title opportunity. After defeating Calista Silgado by unanimous decision in January 2025, she challenged unbeaten WBC featherweight champion Skye Nicolson in Sydney, Australia. Brown handed Nicolson her first professional defeat, winning a ten-round split decision to become WBC featherweight champion.

Brown made successful defenses against Emma Gongora in September 2025 and previously unbeaten Hannah Rapp in June 2026. The victory over Nicolson remains the defining win of her professional career and earned Brown recognition as the WBC's Revelation of the Year for 2025.

Outside boxing, Brown has a background in law enforcement. She worked for the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., after previously serving with the Fort Myers Police Department, and was named Washington, D.C. Officer of the Year in 2019. Her connection to the Police Athletic League has also remained important, with Brown continuing to support young athletes through community and scholarship work.
